FRONT DESK REPRESENTATIVE
Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists is looking for upbeat, energetic customer focused Front Desk Representative.
Brief Job Description:
Under the direction/supervision of the Front Desk Supervisor, this position is responsible for greeting patients and families; collecting accurate demographic, insurance and all other billing information to perform check in; scanning and filing; answering phone calls, and performing any other duties necessary to provide efficient, timely services to the patients, their families and providers—while providing exceptional customer service. Must be willing to travel to satellite offices for coverage of those front desk duties on regular / coverage basis.
Experience / Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working within a large medical office practice, or prior work experience must include working in a high-volume customer service environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Allscripts Pro PM and SRS a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE REPRESENTATIVE
Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists is seeking a knowledgeable, motivated, organized individual to work claims follow up for major commercial insurance and patients for both physician and facility claims.
Brief Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Billing Manager, performs a variety of accounts receivable and collection duties. Provides support to the front desk and medical secretaries in addition to other members in the Billing Department. Position answers phone calls from patients, insurance carriers, other employees and multiple other sources. This position responds to routine inquiries regarding a patient’s balance on their account(s). Follow up on claim denials, outstanding balances within established guidelines.
Experience / Skills Required:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of receivables experience within a large medical practice.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD9 and ICD10 coding required.
- Prior work experience must include working in a high volume, physician practice, facility (ASC) and reimbursement operation environment.
- Requires organizational skills to organize daily work to reach predetermined goals.
- Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with peers, management, physicians, patients and payer representatives.
- Familiarity with medical billing software.
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30.
MEDICAL SECRETARY
Greater Chesapeake Hand Specialists is looking for a team focused medical secretary able to assist in coverage of multiple physicians.
Brief Job Description:
Under the direction/supervision, this position is responsible for answering the phones, scheduling patients appointments in Practice Management system; scheduling surgeries; posting surgeries, maintaining physician schedule, posting surgeries at various locations, assist physician in miscellaneous administrative tasks, including typing, calling patients and general administrative work.
Experience / Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Degree preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a medical office environment, preferably in a secretarial role.
- Previous medical office customer service experience with direct patient interactions.
- Excellent customer service skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, EMR/PM systems.
- Ability to schedule and register patients rapidly and accurately.
- Surgical Posting Experience.
- Comfort with high volume phones, as well direct patient interactions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Detail oriented, and organized.
Hours: Monday through Friday usually between 8:00-5:30.
