Our son was hammering a metal stake on a Boy Scout camping trip and managed to get a small piece of metal lodged in his left index finger - not far from the bone. It bled profusely. The metal object was successfully removed from his finger, thanks to Dr. Neal Zimmerman and the outstanding staff at Greater Chesapeake Hand to Shoulder in Timonium. ~ John
I am the prosthetist that is working with your patient Kyle. I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that he is doing remarkably well with his partial hand myoelectric prosthesis. He has adapted so well that his prosthetic digits move to communicate expressions when he is conversing with someone! He is working full time...sometimes driving a forklift with his prosthetic hand! He has returned to all his pre-amputation outdoor activities (hunting, fishing, hiking). The outcomes we are now seeing would not be possible if not for an amazing surgical outcome. I've been an RN for a long time, so I'm judgmental of doctors. I was referred to Dr Zimmerman by my primary physician. Best referral ever! From day one to last follow up appointment I found Dr Zimmerman to be humble yet confident, professional yet not stuffy. (he wears the coolest socks) His staff is as accommodating and pleasant as he is...Don't let the baby face fool you.. He KNOWS what he is doing! He fixed me! Isn't that what it is all about? Last year I shattered my elbow. Dr Segalman did amazing work putting the elbow back together with a lot of hardware..and then this year taking out the majority of the hardware. Despite the extent of the injury, I have had a great outcome with the majority of range of motion and use of the arm restored. I've had two surgeries and many office visits, and Dr Segalman is highly skilled, patient, answers questions thoroughly and makes you feel at ease. I highly recommend him and this office. ~ Eileen
